Jim Claypool Art & Writing Contest
The district along with the Kentucky Division of Conservation and the Kentucky Farm Bureau sponsor this annual contest. It is an educational opportunity that enhances the students of Leslie County's knowledge of conservation concerns. The picture below is of Jeremiah Ford, who was the 2009 state winner.
County Cost-Share
We offer a county cost-share program through out offices for the people of Leslie County. For more information on this program, contact our office. Below is a picture of an irrigation system that was installed on the George Wooton Farm.
Mini Grants
The District offers Mini Grants to all City, County, Public & Private Schools in Leslie County to assist them with conservation, education and practices.
Scholarships
We set aside $1,000.00 yearly to financially assist Leslie County High School Seniors or previous recipients of the Scholarship who are majoring in agriculture or related sciences at a Kentucky College or University.
Tree Seedling Giveaway
The District annually hosts a treed seedling giveaway. The seedlings are purchased from the Division of Forestry.
